Watercolor Sketches

A guy asked me to sketch up some t-shirt design ideas, here they are. They were based on a quote he wanted in the design,"When thy fingers grasp the paintbrush,it is as if thou wert at prayer in the temple", which I thought was pretty sweet.

Threw some colored pencils on that geetar.

A piece I am currently constructing. I'll probably ink the guitar because it seems pencil is too light against the wood burning. The frame is just slices of 2 x 4 and the backing is some random wood I found.

Another round of sketches, still done fairly fast. The last one of the old man took some time only because of all the dark patches, but overall fairly fast.

A Sort of Freedom

I'm not sure why I never did it before...it's a sort of fear I propose, of mine anyway, a fear of drawing something that looks so horrible and incoherent to true anatomy or physical objects.

Today I went on a scribble spree, I made lines, pen constantly laying down ink in scuffs, and when the dust cleared I found I liked what I saw better than my normal sketches or studies. However, it doesn't seem to work yet with drawing from things I can physically see, I do best in this style if I'm drawing from my mind.

Most of these took from 10-45 seconds with no initial layout pass.
